Nike

Nike was the perfect Lab pup...except for a few things. For example, he liked to chew...a lot...really a lot. He chewed normal things like shoes and toys, he chewed unusual things like furniture, and he chewed downright bizarre things like linoleum floors. He also enjoyed digging. For two years, he was determined to get under our fence to visit our neighbor's dog, Moose - and he made it several times! With his high energy and increasing size, Nike was a bit like a bull in a China shop and he was the terror of the house. We tried obedience school, but we found it was not a great fit for Nike. So we were just happy that he was a loving and joyful pup and we have some of the cutest puppy pictures ever!
When we celebrated his second birthday, the sun shone and the angels sang - he calmed down, stopped chewing and digging, and actually absorbed some basic training (not too much, but a little!). Everyone, and I mean everyone, loved him - especially us. We loved how he slept with Seychelle on the bed (he got 3/4, she got 1/4), rode alongside Dylan's bike (he pulled, Dylan glided), was careful and gentle with babies, how his toenails clicked on the hardwood floor, how his tail was a lethal weapon, and that he laid back his ears and had the best smile in the world on his face every time he saw one of us. He was THE most loyal friend that anyone could ever ask for, and our family was truly blessed by Nike Thomas Steiner.
