ADOPTION/FOSTER ALERTS!
Foster Families are desperately needed to remove dogs from shelters and make room for more animals. Many of the dogs that you will see on this page are residing in high-kill shelters, meaning that if they cannot find a foster or family, the dog/puppy may be euthanized simply due to a lack of space. If you are interested in fostering one (or several) of these dogs, please contact the person listed under the dog/puppy profile, or feel free to contact us and we will be happy to help!
Adoptive Families are needed to provide these deserving pups with loving homes where they can live the rest of their lives. Many of these dogs have never known what a home or affection feels like. Adoptive families are able to give the greatest gift to these dogs and puppies in need - a loving home and a happy life. If you are interested in adopting one of the dogs/puppies listed below, please contact the person listed below the dog/puppy profile, or feel free to contact us and we will be happy to help!
Free Adoption/Foster Listings: If you would like us to list a dog/puppy that needs a foster home and/or adoption, please email us a picture and as many details as you have. We will be happy to post it for free as a service to the many dogs in need and the individuals and organizations who work tirelessly to help them.
West Virginia (Fayetteville or surrounding areas)
Pitbull-Mix Buddies Come in PairsSeeking: Adoption (they are currently being fostered by the person who found them) These precious, non-aggressive pitbull-mix girls are quite the pair. They were found wandering around together on the Route 19 bridge in Fayetteville, WV. It is evident that they were raised in a very loving home environment and have certainly grown up together. They do everything together including sleeping (as you can see in the pictures below). They are great with people and dogs and walk great on and off leash. They have really won the heart of their foster, but she is unfortunately unable to keep them long-term. This pair must be adopted together. Based on how closely bonded they are, it would be devastating to split them up. The foster is willing to drive them to potential adopters outside of Fayetteville as well (within a day's drive). Pups with Forever Homes!
Hayden (aka "Haydie")Hayden has found a loving, forever home with his foster family (and K9 PAC co-founders). From the first day that he arrived, Haydie fit perfectly into their little "pac" - the energy between him and the resident pups was just right. Prior to his arrival, Haydie was rescued from a high-kill shelter in rural North Carolina after his previous owners dropped him off without explanation. Since then, he was bounced around between 5 homes in 6 months, including one adoptive parent who returned him due to his separation anxiety. Haydie's story touched the hearts of his foster parents and after discovering that he was also heartworm positive and would need to go through a month of treatment & recovery, they decided that he had been through enough. This little guy needed a forever home, one that he could count on and that would shower him with love and help him to feel secure so he could overcome his behavioral "quirks". So, on April 28th (his new "birthday"), Haydie became a permanent member of the "pac" and his foster-turned-forever-parents and his new furry brother and sister could not be happier! Bingo & BongoBingo and Bongo really lucked out! They have been adopted together by a family that lives on a great big farm with tons of land for them to run, jump, and play! These rascal brothers were rescued by MJ's Animal Sanctuary from a high-kill shelter in rural North Carolina. Bingo & Bongo are very playful little boys - they enjoy wrestling with each other, playing with toys, and going for walks. When playtime is over, they are the biggest cuddle buddies EVER! We are very happy that they found such a perfect forever home. TonkaTonka was found with his buddy Ocho (pictured below) on Beltway 8 in Houston. After hanging out with his foster family and doggie friends for several months, we are happy to report that Tonka has found himself a new forever family and is settling in quite nicely. OchoOcho, named after Beltway 8 in Houston where he was rescued, is now with his forever family. He had a wonderful time bonding with the locals at his foster parents' house and hanging out with his buddy Tonka (still available for adoption). Ocho is 55 lbs of young puppy love and is very happy in his forever home.

Adoption Update (November 24, 2009): Walter Update (January 2010): |
Steve (aka Stampede)The top right picture below shows Steve (formerly known as Stampede) before he was rescued by a volunteer with Fences for Fido, a non-profit that builds fences for dogs in need. FFF aims to provide dogs a life of freedom by removing their chains and building them fences so they are able to run and play in their own yards. Steve was one of those cases, but it became apparent that his owner did not want him and that even unchained, he would not have the life that he deserved. So, his owner surrendered Steve to the FFF volunteer who fostered him. ADOPTION UPDATE: Steve has been adopted by a wonderful family that absolutely adores him! You can certainly tell the difference in his attitude between the first picture and the rest! Pictures of Steve at home are courtesy of Fences For Fido: |
